U.S. Department of Treasury - Multi-Site Migration
Overview
Led a 9-month engagement (April 2020 - November 2020) as Senior Architect, executing a multi-site consolidation initiative that migrated 6 legacy SharePoint sites to a unified Drupal 8 platform. This project modernized Treasury's digital infrastructure while preserving complex content relationships and enabling new integration capabilities.
The Challenge
Treasury was operating 6 separate SharePoint sites that had grown organically over years:
- Content silos - Information scattered across disconnected platforms
- Inconsistent user experience - Each site had different navigation, design, and workflows
- Limited integration - SharePoint couldn't easily connect with Treasury's other systems
- Content management burden - 200+ content creators managing content across multiple platforms
- Legacy technical debt - Aging infrastructure difficult to maintain and extend
