Black Cloud: dedicated, itemized hosting for agents

What Black Cloud is

Black Cloud is the hosting and provisioning layer beneath every Blacksky agent. Each client gets a dedicated stack: their own compute, their own phone numbers, their own memory store and their own keys. Nothing is shared between paying clients.

Most AI products bury hosting inside a subscription. Black Cloud does the opposite: hosting is its own product, with its own line on the bill, so the client can see what their agent costs to run.

How billing works

The Black Cloud bill is itemized by component: compute, phone service, model usage and memory, each at cost plus a stated markup. The markup is set per component and never hidden. A client can see which part of the agent costs what, and decide what to change.

Model usage is attributable because each client stack has its own model provider key, so token usage is counted per client rather than estimated.

How a stack is built

A client's stack is described in a single file that lists what the client has: services, phone numbers, model tier, memory tiers. Black Cloud provisions from that description. That makes a new stack repeatable and inspectable rather than hand built, and the description doubles as the audit trail.

The provisioner proposes; a person signs off before anything is created. Nothing is ever torn down automatically.

Keys are stored as references, never written into configuration.

Choosing a model tier

How fast an agent needs to answer depends on where it is. On the phone, every second of silence matters, so the phone state only accepts model tiers fast enough for a live call. Background work can use any tier. Black Cloud prices each tier as its own component.

Ownership and handover

The client owns their build. The configuration, documents and data are exportable, and a client stack can be handed over as a directory. Black Cloud is a way to run an agent, not a way to keep a client.

Where Black Cloud is today

Black Cloud is in its first phase. Maurice, Blacksky's own AI, runs on the first Black Cloud stack and is the test case: if Black Cloud cannot describe, provision and bill Maurice, it is not ready for anyone else.

Common questions

Is my agent on shared infrastructure? Not for paying clients. Each gets a dedicated stack.

Can I see what each conversation costs? Yes. Usage is recorded per conversation and priced from the same rate card as the bill.

Can I host it myself? Talk to Mario. The build is yours, and the stack description makes it portable.
